SW Virginia man found dead, body tangled in barbed wire fence

GATE CITY, Va. — Authorities are investigating the death of a Scott County man whose body was reportedly found over the weekend tangled in a barbed-wire fence behind his residence.

The Scott County Sheriff’s Office identified the man Monday afternoon as Levi Vermillion, 28, 148 Fiddle Drive, Hiltons.

Scott County Sheriff John Puckett said Vermillion’s body was sent to the state forensics lab in Roanoke Monday to undergo an autopsy.
