One man is still wanted by the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department as the last of 30 men and women charged in Operation Dixie Crystal, a joint drug task force mission aimed to stop methamphetamine traffickers that began in 2012.
Larry Mitchell Snyder, 59, Trade, has been charged with drug trafficking and a reward is available for any information leading to his arrest. Snyder was indicted by a federal grand jury on June 18 and the charge could lead to a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years to life.
Operation Dixie Crystal spans Ashe, Allegheny, Caldwell, Watauga and Wilkes counties in North Carolina as well as Johnson County. The operation has netted the seizure of approximately 30 firearms, five vehicles, 20 pounds of methamphetamine and $150,000.
