NASHVILLE — Flood warnings continue in several counties in Middle Tennessee after heavy rainfall swelled rivers and tributaries.
The National Weather Service in Nashville issued a flood warning for the Cumberland River in Clarksville, which was less than foot below the flood stage as of Sunday morning. The weather service also issued a flood warning for Mill Creek near Antioch in Davidson County, which was about three feet above the flood stage.
Traci Short and her 6-year-old daughter were forced from their home in La Vergne by rising floodwaters on Saturday. She told The Tennessean (http://tnne.ws/10loVug ) that the water had reached ankle- to knee-deep in her yard. The water began receding on Saturday evening and Short was allowed to return to her home.
