Man burned in Johnson City house fire

A man was burned in a north Johnson City house fire on Friday.
Firefighters were called to 2909 Vernon St. about 7:45 p.m. and found flames and smoke coming from the house, according to a Johnson City Fire Department news release.
A resident told firefighters everyone was out of the house, but one man's hands were burned. Washington County/Johnson City Emergency Medical Services took him to Franklin Woods Community Hospital for treatment. His name was not released, and his condition was not available.
One room of the Vernon Street residence received heavy fire damage, and the rest of the house had heat and smoke damage. The fire's cause had not been determined, according to the release.
Three engines and two ladder companies responded to the fire.
Vernon Street is off East Oakland Avenue just west of North Roan Street.
