A wrong-way trip down North Roan Street landed a man in jail Sunday on his fourth DUI charge.
Mark Wayne Wharton, 110 Happy Valley Road, was arrested after driving the wrong way on North Roan, driving over the curb and into the grass at 2122 N. Roan St., police said.
Wharton was found with two open containers of alcohol and 20.5 grams of marijuana, police said.
Along with his fourth DUI charge, Wharton was charged with his third driving on a revoked license offense, simple possession of marijuana and violation of the open container law.
He was jailed in the Washington County Detention Center without bond pending a Sessions Court appearance Monday.
Police listed Wharton's date of birth as Jan. 20, 1991, in a news release, but the Washington County Detention Center's record indicated the date was March 2, 1966.
Editor's Note: An earlier version of this article listed Wharton's age as 22 based on the news release. Based on a WCDC record, his age would be 47.
