What are your thoughts on football returning to ETSU?

Are you ready for some football at East Tennessee State University? The Tennessee Board of Regents will vote today on a proposed $125 per semester athletic fee to fund the return of football to ETSU. If all goes as expected, students will begin paying the fee this fall.
University officials hope to field a team in 2015. ETSU ended its football program in 2003, and a campus referendum to bring it back failed in 2007. Even so, ETSU President Brian Noland has made resurrection of the football program one of his top goals since taking over as head of the university in late 2011.
As Press Assistant News Editor Rex Barber reported in Thursday’s paper, a TBR committee has already given its blessings to the student athletic fee hike.
Barber also reported that if the TBR does approve the athletic fee today, ETSU Interim Athletics Director Richard Sander is confident things would move quickly to establish a new football program. That includes hiring a head coach by May.
