4th person charged with murder in Greene County river bridge double slayings

GREENEVILLE — A fourth person has been charged with first-degree murder in the slayings of two people found shot to death under a Nolichucky River bridge in Greene County a year ago.
Teresa Miller, Clifton Heights Road, was charged on a grand jury presentment for the March 11, 2012, deaths of 21-year-old Terrence Logan Stewart and 20-year-old Courtney Amber Thompson, Greene County Sheriff Steve Burns announced in a news release.
Stewart and Thompson were shot to death in a moving vehicle and their bodies dumped under the bridge on U.S. Highway 321
Also indicted on first-degree murder charges this week in connection with the deaths were Tabitha N. Whitlock, Dulaney Road, Mosheim; James Douglas Black, Main Street, White Pine; and Christopher Allen Jones, 7th Street, Newport.
According to court documents, Black allegedly shot Stewart, who was in the front passenger seat, in the back of his head two times. Then, when Thompson turned around to see who shot Stewart, Black allegedly shot her in the face four times. Black, Jones and Whitlock were arrested soon after the killings.
