MEMPHIS — A Shelby County grand jury has indicted a teen in the killing of a Ridgeway High School assistant basketball coach.
The first-degree murder charge was handed up Tuesday against 19-year-old Dwayne Moore in the death of 49-year-old Jimmy McClain, who was found slain in his home in Cordova on Feb 22.
According to The Commercial Appeal, the cause of McClain's death has not been released, but Moore was arrested March 5 on gun charges. Those come from a burglary on Jan. 30 in which a custom Bushmaster AR15 rifle was stolen, along with ammunition and accessories.
On March 5, detectives received a photo from an anonymous source that shows Moore holding the rifle.
