KINGSPORT — A Kingsport motorist has been arrested after allegedly striking a vehicle on East Center Street Thursday night, then continuing on to collide with three more that were sitting in a parking lot.
After his SUV came to rest on the hood of a pickup truck he reportedly attempted to run down a street to flee police, but was chased down and determined to be under the influence. No one was injured in the incident, though Brian L. Davidson, 45, of 2005 Hermitage Drive, allegedly caused thousands of dollars in property damage.
Kingsport police were alerted to the collisions at approximately 10:45 Thursday night. According to an arrest report a motorist traveling east on East Center Street was slowing for a red light at the intersection with Memorial Boulevard. In their rearview mirror the driver allegedly observed a Ford Explorer quickly approaching, prompting them to swerve into the other eastbound lane to avoid getting rear-ended.
