KINGSPORT — Three days after being charged with shoplifting items used to make methamphetamine, a Kingsport couple were arrested again on Wednesday following the alleged discovery of meth labs in their residence.
Police say the Department of Childrens Services also responded to the home, with authorities currently working to determine if their three children have been subjected to the meth cooking operations. The juveniles were not present at the time of the alleged meth lab discoveries, with an investigation into possible child endangerment charges continuing.
Nathan D. Cox and Sherry E. Cox, each 36, were taken into custody Wednesday afternoon at their home, 225 Hiara Drive. They were both charged with initiation of a process intended to create meth, maintaining a dwelling where illegal drugs are stored, used or sold and possession of drug paraphernalia.
