On 02/28/13 at around 12:47pm Kingsport Police responded to a traffic crash on Interstate 26 west bound near Interstate 81. Single vehicle crash involving a green 93 Ford Explorer. Driver was identified as Gary Wilson and passenger was identified as Sonya Galvan. Ms. Galvan stated that Mr. Wilson became angry with her and told her that he was going to kill her and deliberately crashed into a guardrail causing the vehicle to roll over. Ms. Galvan suffered cuts and bruises from the crash. Mr. Wilson was found to be under the influence of an unknown substance. He was taken to the hospital for an LBA. Mr. Wilson was charged with Attempted 1st degree Murder, DUI, No insurance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Police: Man tries to kill girlfriend by rolling SUV on I-26

KINGSPORT — A Kingsport man is alleged to have intentionally steered his vehicle into an Interstate 26 guardrail Thursday afternoon, rolling his SUV in an attempt to kill his girlfriend.
Police say the passenger suffered only scrapes and bruises in the incident, while the suspect was found to be under the influence.
At approximately 12:47 p.m., officers responded to the crash near the I-26 interchange with I-81. Officers reportedly found a 1993 Ford Explorer had overturned after striking a guardrail.
The female passenger suffered only superficial injuries, while the driver, Gary Wilson Jr, 46, was determined to be intoxicated. He was transported to an area hospital for blood testing.
