A Virginia woman was arrested Monday on a charge that she falsified a sexual assault claim in Johnson City.
Jenny Wren Wright, 19, 2608 Clark House Farm Road, Stuart, Va., was arrested after she reported to Johnson City police that she had been sexually assaulted on Sunday, police said in a news release.
Wright told police a man she had recently met wanted to have intercourse with her and she refused. She told police the man then struck her face with his hand, police said in the release.
Wright had no marks on her face consistent with her allegations, police said, and she made other statements that failed to validate her claims.
Charged with filing a false report, Wright was jailed in the Washington County Detention Center on a $5,000 bond pending a Sessions Court appearance Tuesday.
