Executive chef at Millennium Centre trained in culinary arts in France

Even as a child, Jean-Claude Seruga always knew one thing — he would one day become a chef.

“My mom would always tell me that I was 4 years old the first time I said I would become a chef. I never said I would become a cook. I always said I would become a chef,” he said.

Seruga, a master chef from Paris, is executive chef of the Millennium Centre, where he creates all of the meals that are served at the conference center’s various meetings, banquets and other events.

Press Staff Writer Madison Mathews interviewed Seruga for a feature story on the life of this world renowned chef, who began culinary training as a teenager and worked in restaurants in France, New York and California before coming to Johnson City.
