City Commission candidate forum set for Tuesday downtown
Today at 6:55 PM
Three local organizations will conduct a forum for Johnson City Commission candidates Tuesday beginning at 6:30 p.m. at The Charles in downtown Johnson City.
Seniors in Action, Young Professionals of the Tri-Cities and the Professional Firefighters Association will sponsor the event. Moderator Dave Hogan of local talk radio station WJCW’s Dave & Carl show will ask a series of questions, compiled by the three groups, to the commission candidates.
The forum is free and open to the public. Members of all three participating groups invite interested members of the community to attend.
Candidates include Frank Bolus, a former Washington County Commissioner; Jenny Brock, Johnson City Board of Education member; Vance Cheek Jr., a former city commissioner, William “Bud” Hill, who ran unsuccessfully for a City Commission seat in 2010; Bart Mikitowicz, a project coordinator for Johnson City’s Glass & Concrete Contracting; incumbent commissioner Jane Myron; and David Tomita, a Washington County commissioner.
The Charles is located at 308 E Main St.
The election will be April 23.
