A Jonesborough woman was arrested early Saturday after reportedly being found with items she was attempting to take from a business at 429 N. State of Franklin Road.

According to a news release from the Johnson City Police Department, Montana G. Hamilton, 29, 118 Cable Road, Jonesborough, was charged with theft over $500.

Police said the arrest came after officers responding to a report of a shoplifting in progress. When they arrived, officers were told Hamilton was still inside the store. Officers located her and found $799 worth of merchandise on her person.

The Walgreens store at the corner of State of Franklin and West Market Street is located at that address.
