Woman sentenced for two robberies

GREENEVILLE –– A Johnson City woman was sentenced Wednesday after she pleaded guilty May 14 to two armed robberies, according to a U.S. District Court release.
According to the release, Tammy Copas, 40, was sentenced 121 months in prison by Judge J. Ronnie Greer for robbing Discount Tobacco Outlet store in Elizabethton and La Perla restaurant in Johnson City in January 2012.
Copas also pleaded guilty to brandishing a firearm during the robbery at La Perla.
The release said she was sentenced 37 months for each robbery and 84 months for brandishing the firearm.
After serving her sentence, Copas will face three years of supervised probation.
