Man charged with passing fake $50 bill at Johnson City Taco Bell

A Johnson City man was charged with passing a fake $50 bill at a local restaurant, according to police.
Johnson City police were called to Taco Bell, 2100 West Market St., to investigate a suspected counterfeit $50 bill a man allegedly provided as payment while in the drive-thru line Sunday night.
Police said in a news release that George K. Ferguson, 47, 1707 Mary St., sped away from Taco Bell when an officer arrived but was stopped at the intersection of W. Market and N. North Street.
Ferguson was charged with criminal simulation and taken to the Washington County Detention Center.
He was being held on $10,000 bond.
Ferguson was scheduled to be arraigned in Washington County Sessions Court Monday.
