Annual Christmas parade ushers Santa Claus into town

Staff Report • Dec 8, 2012 at 9:51 PM

Johnson Citians lined East Main and Buffalo streets and West State of Franklin Road on Saturday as the annual Downtown Johnson City Christmas Parade made its way through downtown.

As parade participants threw candy to the crowd, kids, some dressed in their holiday best, reached out to grab the sweet treats.

All the parade favorites were included — high school bands, dance routines, floats, vendors, beauty queens and more.

And, of course, bringing up the rear of the parade were the most anticipated participants of all riding in on a giant fire engine — Santa and Mrs. Claus.
