Woman charged with stealing wallet, using credit cards

Johnson City police arrested a city woman Monday on charges that she stole another woman's wallet and repeatedly used her credit card.
Kelly Murphy, 36, 515 N. Gilmer Park, No. 2, was charged with two counts of identity theft, theft of property over $500 and two counts of theft of property under $500.
On Nov. 2, Danielle Byington, 27, Johnson City, told police she was at the Acoustic Coffee House on West Walnut Street on Oct. 31 when someone took her wallet from her purse.
Her wallet contained her debit card, two credit cards, $60 in cash and several personal identification cards, according to reports.
Byington's cards were used Nov. 5 at Walmart on West Market Street for $650 and Bays Mart on West Market for $48, according to reports.
Murphy was jailed in the Washington County Detention Center on $27,000 bond and arraigned Tuesday in Sessions Court.
