KINGSPORT — Police are investigating a suspected murder-suicide in the Ridgefields community, where the co-founder of a Kingsport financial planning firm and his wife were found dead late Tuesday night.
At approximately 11:15 p.m. police were alerted to the shooting at 433 High Ridge Road. Kingsport Police Department Lt. Bob Abernathy says a third party contacted authorities, reporting they had received a call from a male at the residence who claimed his wife was dead.
Police responded to find resident Norman Hensley, 77, and his wife Mary Anne Hensley, 66, suffering fatal gunshot wounds. Abernathy declined to comment on whether any notes were left behind, but confirmed a gun was found at the scene.
