A city man being arrested for domestic assault Thursday was given additional charges after trying to kick out a police car window, according to a news release.
Johnson City police used a chemical agent on Anthony K. Bridges, 47, 910 Welbourne St., Thursday after he kicked a patrol car door so that it would not shut properly.
Bridges had been placed in the back of the patrol car originally for simple domestic assault. He started kicking the door window and police saw the glass flex, according to a report.
He stopped when asked but resumed kicking when police walked away.
Bridges was sprayed with the chemical agent and charged with resisting arrest and vandalism over $1,000.
He was taken to the Washington County Detention Center.
A court appearance was scheduled for Bridges Friday in Sessions Court.
