Supreme Court won’t hear Sneyd’s appeal

Staff reports • Nov 28, 2012 at 9:31 PM

The Tennessee Supreme Court denied permission to hear an appeal Wednesday filed on behalf of Washington County Clerk and Master Brenda W. Sneyd, according to an official order from the Chancery Court for Washington County.

Sneyd filed the appeal with the Supreme Court after an Aug. 29, 2011, decision by the state Court of Appeals dismissed her lawsuit against Washington County because Sneyd did not receive the same 10 percent pay raise as her counterpart, Circuit Court Clerk Karen Guinn.

Sneyd originally filed suit in September 2010 in Washington County Chancery Court and also requested back pay beginning in 2006 along with the pay raise. Her request was denied in Chancery Court and she appealed the decision to the Court of Appeals.
