What are you giving thanks for this year?

What are you thankful for this year? With only one day left until Thanksgiving, this might be a good time to compile such a list.
There are many things that might immediately come to mind, such as our families and friends. What about the joy of a child’s embrace or the sight of a happy pet welcoming us home?
All Americans should be thankful for the freedoms we enjoy as citizens of this nation. We might also count our health and our faith among our blessings.
Certainly, we should be thankful for the food many of us will enjoy during this holiday season.
We also need to be mindful of the volunteers who will be helping feed the less fortunate on this holiday.
It’s also important to remember some of the groups that feed the needy are themselves in need of a helping hand this holiday season.
Soup kitchens, food banks and local charities are seeing more struggling families turning to them for help.
It would be a grievous oversight this Thanksgiving for us not to list all the firefighters, police officers and paramedics who will be at their jobs today to make sure our holiday is safe and happy.
The same goes to the men and women serving our country in Afghanistan and other places far from their loved ones. We are truly blessed to have such dedicated individuals protecting our nation.
We want to hear from you. What are you thankful for this year?
