A Kingsport man was arrested Thursday following an investigation into a report of stolen property at a local shopping center, according to a police news release.
According to the release and a court affidavit, Roy Daniel Carroll, 33, 484 Virgil Ave., went into Walmart, 3111 Browns Mill Road, on Sept. 30, put a crossbow in his shopping cart from the sporting goods department and left the store without paying for the item.
On Oct. 29, another report was filed from the store that alleges Carroll went back to the store and took two more crossbows without payment.
Carroll was charged with one count of theft of property over $500 and one count of theft of property under $500.
He was taken to the Washington County Detention Center and was being held on $6,000 bond.
Carroll was scheduled to appear in Sessions Court Friday morning.
