Police probe shooting at local Indian restaurant

Johnson City Police are continuing to investigate a shooting at a local restaurant early Saturday morning, according to a news release.
According to police, officers were driving nearby when they heard gunshots coming from Sahib Restaurant and Bar at the Days Inn, 2312 Browns Mill Road around 2:47 a.m.
Upon arrival, they found that a 22-year-old Murfreesboro resident had been shot in the arm. Police said the victim, whose name was not released, was uncooperative with officers and was taken to Johnson City Medical Center for treatment.
While conducting their investigation in the parking lot, officers approached Rashid Jamahl Moore, 27, 1860 County Meadow Drive, Sevierville, who attempted to flee.
While fleeing he dropped a handgun before being taken into custody.
Moore was found to be in possession of marijuana that was packaged for resale, police said.
He was charged with possession of schedule VI drugs with the intent to distribute or deliver and possession of a handgun under the influence.
Police said they do not believe Moore was involved in the shooting.
Information concerning a possible court appearance was unavailable.
Police said the investigation into the shooting is continuing and anyone with information is asked to call the Criminal Investigation Division at 434-6166.
