An incident at Johnson City's mall led to the arrest of a 17-year-old Elizabethton boy on charges that he had marijuana for sale, Johnson City police announced Thursday in a news release.
Police went to the Mall at Johnson City on North Roan Street after receiving a complaint about suspicious activity in the parking lot.
Officers found four people standing around a car, and one of the youths had more than 18 grams of marijuana. He also had digital scales.
The teen was charged with felony possession of schedule VI drugs for resale and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was jailed in the regional Juvenile Detention Center pending a Johnson City Juvenile Court appearance Friday.
The boy's name was not released because of his age.
