Blount teacher wins East Tennessee Grand Division Teacher of the Year

NASHVILLE –– The Tennessee Department of Education announced the 2012-13 Teacher of the Year Tuesday night, with Renda Crowe, of William Blount High School in Blount County, receiving the East Tennessee Grand Division Teacher of the Year honor, according to the TDOE website.

Mary Pitner, of Learning Way Elementary in Bedford County, won the Middle Tennessee Grand Division and Allyson Chick, of Memphis’ Richland Elementary, won the West Tennessee Grand Division.

According to the website, Chick was also named overall 2013 Tennessee Teacher of the Year.

Nancy Miles, a second-grade teacher from Woodland Elementary School, was a finalist in the East Tennessee Grand Division.
