ELIZABETHTON — A traffic stop on Tuesday afternoon led to the arrests of two men who were wanted.
Deputy Isaac Rhea had been told to be on the look out for two men in a Plymouth Acclaim who residents said were acting suspiciously on Lick Skillet Road. When Rhea stopped the vehicle, he identified the driver as Christopher Earl Carver, 33, 107 Taylor Hollow Road.
A records check indicated Christopher Carver was wanted on a burglary of a garage in the Stoney Creek area in April. A grand jury indictment charged him with burglary and theft over $500.
According to the indictment, Christopher Carver entered the garage of Earl Rock on April 9 and stole three wheels for a Datsun 240Z, a propane tank, and two lawn mower batteries. The wheels were found at Davis Recycling.
A passenger in the car was identified as Steven Dana Carver, 48, 137 Dan Bowers Road, Lot 21. Rhea said he was wanted on a charge of violation of probation. Rhea also noticed a clear plastic bag with green plants in it, which appeared to be marijuana. He said Steven Carver told him he had found the plant in the woods and had harvested it, dried it and planned to smoke it. Rhea then charged him with possession of marijuana.
