Auto dealers to help United Way reach goal

Local auto dealers are doing their part to help see United Way of Washington County meets its $1.77 million fundraising goal. This is the fourth year that dealers will be donating a portion of the receipts from every car sold, or test driven today through Sunday and Oct. 12, 13 and 14 to the United Way campaign.
And if you are interested in buying a new car and helping out the cause this weekend, be sure to take advantage of a coupon in the Johnson City Press good for $250 off a purchase at the participating dealers.
“Give From Your Heart” is the theme of this year’s United Way campaign. As Press staff writer Sue Guinn Legg reported last week, the campaign kicked off on Aug. 16 with approximately 26 percent the campaign goal pledged early by employees at 35 local pace-setting companies (including the Johnson City Press).
As we’ve noted in this space before, we know regular readers of this page are people who care deeply about their community and have already contributed something to the campaign. We now urge you to encourage a family member, friend or co-worker to follow your lead and make their own contributions to United Way.
For more information about the campaign, go to www.unitedwayofwashingtoncountytn.org, or contact the United Way at 282-5682.
Donations to the campaign can be made online or by mail to P.O. Box 4039, Johnson City, TN 37602-4039.
