News conference on Washington County bus crash planned for Wednesday morning

Details of a Sept. 20 bus crash in Washington County that injured dozens of David Crockett High School students, some seriously, will be made known in a news conference tomorrow morning.

Tennessee Highway Patrol officials and District Attorney Tony Clark will also address questions from the media at the 11 a.m. news conference at the George P. Jaynes Justice Center, 108 West Jackson Blvd., Jonesborough.

The bus crashed around 3 p.m. Sept. 20 on Mount Wesley Road in Telford while taking students home. Twenty-seven students and the bus driver were taken to Johnson City Medical Center. Many students were flown by helicopter to the hospital.

All patients were released within a week.

The Johnson City Press will have a photographer and reporter at the news conference.
