Johnson City man charged in Blountville burglaries

BLOUNTVILLE — Deputies have arrested a Johnson City man after he allegedly burglarized four storage lockers at a Blountville business, stealing more than $2,000 in property.
The Sullivan County Sheriff's Office report James Allen Herman, 50, of 1308 Patrick Drive No. 4, was arrested this week for the July burglaries at Gateway Self Storage, 2132 Highway 75. He's charged with four counts of burglary, two counts of theft of more than $1,000, two counts of theft under $500 and four counts of vandalism.
Deputies said Herman's vehicle was captured on surveillance footage at the business during the time of the burglaries. An investigation allegedly revealed he had also inquired about renting a storage locker the day of the incident.
