A Johnson City man was charged with drug possession Thursday when officers checked the vehicle he was in after it was reportedly involved in an earlier disturbance at 519 Washington Ave., police said.
According to the release, Prince Dean Anderson, 18, 2328 Eastside Ave., was one of the occupants of the vehicle. After obtaining consent, officers and a K-9 unit searched the vehicle and reportedly found 11 grams of marijuana in one bag. Another bag contained a white powder substance suspected to be Ecstasy. It had been individually wrapped in eight bags before being placed in the bigger bag.
Police said they also found a digital scale in the vehicle, with what appeared to be marijuana residue on the scales.
Anderson was charged with possession of schedule I drugs for resale and unlawful drug paraphernalia.
He was taken to the Washington County Detention Center and was being held on $11,000 bond.
Anderson is scheduled to appear in Sessions Court on Monday at 1:30 p.m.
