Two men and a woman were arrested early Tuesday after police found them in possession of a stolen weapon and 70 grams of marijuana, according to a Johnson City Police Department report filed by Officer Corey McKinney.
Brian K. Coggins, 39, 1308 Lynnwood Circle; Jack H. Johnson, 25, 2700 Windwood Drive; and Piper S. Webster, 24, 608 Willowood Drive, are each charged with robbery, aggravated burglary and theft.
Webster faces an additional charge related to the marijuana because she told police the three bags of the drugs were hers.
Police were dispatched around 2 a.m. to a home robbery on Deepwood Drive and found the victim, Joshua Kyle, who said the three stormed into his home, beat him up and stole a Springfield Armory handgun before leaving.
Kyle said the three kicked him in the stomach, head, legs and back, according to the report.
Kyle’s father, Clarence Kyle, told police he heard a loud disturbance in the residence and saw three people leaving out the front door.
Joshua Kyle was able to give police a description of the suspects and the vehicle they were in when they left. Officers located that vehicle and the three suspects a short distance away and pulled them over.
Officers located the stolen handgun and also found three Zip-lock bags with what they believe is marijuana. According to McKinney’s report, Webster claimed ownership of the marijuana.
Coggins and Johnson were being held on a $55,000 bond each and Webster has an $85,000 bond. They will all be arraigned today in Washington County Sessions Court.
