Johnson City police arrested a Georgia woman Tuesday on charges she stole a purse from an elderly woman’s shopping cart and tried to cash a check stolen from the purse and forged.
Jamie Elaine Davis, 33, 149 Wilder Way Williamson, Ga., was charged with theft of property over $500 and forgery less than $500.
Police said Davis took a purse from an elderly victim’s shopping cart while she shopped in the Johnson City Target. Davis later attempted to cash a forged check from the stolen purse.
