One person dead, one seriously injured in crash on Bristol Highway

One person was killed and another seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash on Bristol Highway this morning.
Johnson City police said a red Ford F-150 was traveling north on Bristol Highway when the driver lost control, the truck ran off the road, struck a ditch line, went airborne, rolled and struck a utility pole.
The driver, who was not identified, died at the scene, police said in a news release.
The passenger was taken to Johnson City Medical Center, where he was listed in critical condition, according to police.
Identities were being withheld pending notification of families.
A local business was damaged from flying debris from the crash.
The crash was being investigated by the Johnson City Police Department's Traffic Homicide Team.
