Johnson City police found crack cocaine, marijuana and pills in a raid on a north Johnson City hotel room early Thursday morning, resulting in the arrests of three Georgia men, according to a news release.
Montavius “Rico” Gholston, 20, Commerce, Ga., and Justin “Diego” Bookwalter, 20, and Wesley Sumpter, both of Winder, Ga., were arrested after the raid in room 322 at Sleep Inn & Suites, 2020 Franklin Terrace Court.
Investigators raided the hotel about 12:05 a.m. using a search warrant resulting from an investigation into crack sales, police said.
In a report, police said Gholston and Bookwalter "actively resisted" the SWAT team after police entered the room. Sumpter was arrested without incident.
Police found 5.2 grams of crack cocaine in a plastic bag and 10 hydrocodone pills in another bag, as well as digital scales. About a half pound of marijuana was found in a jacket pocket in a duffel bag, police said in the report.
Police also seized $1,255 in cash from the room.
All three men were jailed in the Washington County Detention Center pending Sessions Court appearances Friday.
Gholston and Bookwalter were each charged with possession of schedule II for resale, possession of schedule III for resale, maintaining a dwelling where narcotics are sold, and resisting arrest. Gholston and Bookwalter were held on $21,000 bond each.
Sumpter was charged with possession of schedule VI drugs for resale and maintaining a dwelling where narcotics are sold. His bond was $20,000.
