Johnson City police Monday arrested a 22-year-old Elizabethton man on an assault charge after a Tennessee Highway Patrol trooper saw a fight at a South Roan Street residence on Saturday.
Dan M. Digiacomo, 1700 W. Elk Ave., No. 6, Elizabethton, ran away when THP Trooper Jeff Appleba pulled up to 501 S. Roan St. about 3:30 p.m. Saturday, police said in an affidavit of complaint.
Johnson City police met with the victim, Jerrika Oliver, who reported that her boyfriend, Digiacomo, had hit choked her and hit her during an argument.
Police said Oliver had a black eye, bruising on her neck, a swollen forehead and other injuries to her nose and lips. Oliver refused medical treatment.
Police arrested Digiacomo about 8:15 p.m. Monday. He was arraigned Tuesday in Sessions Court and remained jailed in the Washington County Detention Center on $5,000 bond. A preliminary hearing was set for the following Tuesday.
