A Johnson City man was arrested Sunday on a charge that he choked his wife and threw her down a brick walkway.
Mark V. Kendall, 39, 3706 Timberlake Road, Apt. 76, was charged with aggravated assault.
According to a report, Johnson City police went to Timbers North Apartments about 11:30 p.m. Saturday and found Ginger Begley-Kendall, 38, walking down Timberlake Road near Mikapea Drive.
She told officers she had been arguing with her husband about issues with friends when the argument turned physical. Begley-Kendall said her husband grabbed her by the hair and then by the throat, choking her before slamming her into a wall. He then threw her down a brick walkway, where she suffered a cut on her left palm.
Police said Begley-Kendall's hands were bloody and she had redness on the right side of her neck.
By the time police took her back to the apartment, her husband had left on foot.
After obtaining a warrant, police arrested Kendall at his apartment about 8:30 p.m. Sunday.
He was jailed in the Washington County Detention Center on $25,000 bond pending a Sessions Court appearance Monday.
