A Kingsport pair have been arrested after an investigation of their burglary claim allegedly located not only the "stolen" items within their apartment, but also evidence of the illegal sale of narcotics.

Police say the suspects admitted to making the false report — which identified more than $1,000 of electronics as missing — in an attempt to obtain insurance money. During a Monday morning search of their residence detectives also located an empty oxycodone bottle recently filled in Knoxville, marijuana, and nearly $2,000 in cash.

All of the items, along with a vehicle, were seized by police, while the Department of Children's Services responded to take custody of an 8-month old child.
