Elizabethton city’s funds balanced due to property tax increase

ELIZABETHTON — The city government of Elizabethton has felt the same economic pain that many of its citizens have endured over the last decade. Expenses kept going up while income has been stagnant. Even more troubling, the city’s cash reserves were shrinking, just like some of its citizens’ savings.
