Woman charged with forging check
Johnson City police recently arrested a Jonesborough woman on charges she forged a personal check.
Krystal Barber, 31, 738 Dry Creek Road, Jonesborough, was charged March 19 with one count of forgery over $500.
Police said Barber’s arrest followed an investigation into a man’s claim that Barber forged one of his personal checks and passed it.
According to the police report, Farrell Routh, 49, went to Gray Pharmacy, 208 Suncrest St., on Feb. 23 to pick up a prescription. The owner of the pharmacy reportedly told Routh they had received a returned check signed by him for $628.77 on Feb. 1.
Routh told police Barber had been to his residence several times since they broke up in January.
She was jailed in the Washington County Detention Center and arraigned Wednesday in Sessions Court.
