Welcome race fans, please come again

We want to welcome all race fans who are spending time in our region this weekend. We’re glad you’re here for the NASCAR races at Bristol Motor Speedway. We also want to say “thank you” for spending your hard-earned dollars in our region.
We appreciate that you’ve decided to spend some of your money in our local restaurants, hotels and campgrounds. Your patronage means a lot to our local businesses.
We hope race fans will find us to be good hosts. We certainly want you to come back as often as you can. And yes, we admit it, our reasons for that are mostly self-serving. It’s estimated the Bristol race has as much as a $500 million impact on the Tri-Cities. Many of those dollars find their ways into hotels, restaurants and retailers here in Johnson City. For that we are extremely grateful.
Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia have many things to offer. We have trophy trout streams, the Appalachian Trail and pristine lakes for fishing, swimming and sailing. This is an area with growing cities and expanding communities nestled peacefully among majestic mountains and scenic valleys. And we hope you will come back and visit us for the race in August.
