Civil War revisited: United Daughters of Confederacy honors ancestors' memories

Observing the 150th anniversary of the Civil War “is not to celebrate,” said Katie Walker, president of the local chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, “but to honor.”

Walker and three other members recently shared their thoughts on the significance of that turbulent time, which they prefer to call the War Between the States, and what they know of their ancestors’ participation.
