Gas leak temporarily halts work at Snap-On

Work started Monday on a major expansion of the Snap-On plant in Elizabethton, but had to stop a short time later when a Bobcat excavator cut a natural gas line. Workers from Atmos Energy responded and quickly had the leak repaired.
As a precaution, the workers in the plant were excavated during the leak. They waited in a field adjacent to the plant until they received the all clear signal around noon. Fortunately, there was no precipitation and the temperatures weren't too chilly for late February.
