Board temporarily suspends ex-Rogersville prosecutor's law license

ROGERSVILLE — The law license of former Rogersville prosecutor Doug Godbee was temporarily suspended Tuesday by the Tennessee Supreme Court’s Board of Professional Responsibility, but the reason is not directly related to the felony official misconduct charge he is facing.
According to the Tennessee Supreme Court, Godbee failed to comply with a contract pertaining to a program that provides mental health and/or substance abuse monitoring.
Godbee, 57, served as Rogersville’s chief prosecutor for more than three decades prior to his resignation in September 2010 amid sex-for-leniency allegations.
