Walker named director of rehab services at BRMC

Duke Walker, a physical therapist with 14 years of experience, has been named director of outpatient rehabilitation services at Bristol Regional Medical Center.

Walker oversees the outpatient physical therapy and rehabilitation services facility at 1996 W. State St., which is adjacent to Marsh Regional Blood Center and the YMCA Wellness Center. He also supervises The Hand Center at Bristol Regional, which employs occupational and certified hand therapists.

Walker operated his own outpatient physical therapy and home health physical therapy practice in Athens, Ga., for four years prior to joining Bristol Regional. Before that role, he served as an acute care physical therapist at Doctor’s Hospital in Augusta, Ga., which has 354 beds and was ranked in the top 10 percent nationally for orthopedic surgery.

He is a certified strength and conditioning specialist, and has a bachelor’s degree in health science and a master’s degree in physical therapy, both from the University of Central Arkansas.
