BlueFoxx was a local band that performed around the region for parties and clubs during a golden age for rock ’n’ roll bands.
For much of its early existence, the band was made up of Randy Campbell on bass and vocals, Bary Jolly (also known as Corky Hardin) on guitar and vocals, Jim Bass on percussion, Andy Houston on keys, Lee Gouge on guitar, John Gardner on drums and percussion and Derek Brownlee on electronic percussion.
This combination of the band has not played together since 1970.
City Councilman Sam Shipley later became the drummer for the group. He recalls this as a great time in his life, a “young man’s dream,” but it was also a hectic time once he got a job with the Post Office, requiring him to go to work early in the morning after a late night of playing rock ’n’ roll.
BlueFoxx will be performing from 7-9 p.m. at T.A. Dugger, which was known as Elizabethton High School back in the day when the band was doing its thing.
Tickets are $5 and donations will be accepted.
