Here are five things to do this week:

• Blue Highway will play at the Down Home, 300 W. Main St., Friday at 8 p.m. The band, celebrating 20 years together, will bring copies of their new project “The Game,” on Rounder Records. For more information, visit www.downhome.com/ or call 929-9822.

• A workshop on watercolor painting and landscapes will take place at Sycamore Shoals State Historic Area on Saturday from 9 a.m.-noon. For cost and information on the class, visit www.sycamoreshoalstn.org or call 543-5808.

• Paramount Center for the Arts will present the longest running Broadway hit, “Smokey Joe’s Café,” on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $32 for adults, $28.50 for seniors and students with a school ID. For more information, visit www.theparamountcenter.com or call 274-8920.

• The Historic Jonesborough Dance Society host a contra dance on Saturday from 7:30-10:30 p.m. at the Jonesborough Visitors Center, 117 Boone St., featuring the band Flying The Tune. A class for beginners will be offered at 7 p.m. Admission for the event is $7 and $5 for HJDS members and full-time student.
