Quilts created for the annual Blue Ridge Quilters’ Guild Challenge Show are on display at East Tennessee State University’s Reece Museum through Sept. 13.
The exhibit, which is free to the public, features the work of over 30 quilters and highlights their unique and creative use of the “Floral Burst Duck Egg” fabric that was selected by the Guild for this year’s challenge. The fabric was designed by Phillip Jacobs of Westminster Fibers, according to Reece Museum Director Theresa Hammons, who calls the resulting quilts “a display of innovative design and technical skill.”
The Reece Museum is open Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.; Thursdays from 10 a.m.-7 p.m.; and Saturdays from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Admission is free, and parking passes are available for weekday visitors. Group tours are also available.
