Celebrate ‘meat candy’ at second annual Tri-Cities BaconFest
Aug 23, 2013 at 12:22 PM
Tri-Cities BaconFest is a celebration of everyone’s favorite “meat candy.” This second annual event will be held Sept. 7 and will be hosted at VENUE in Downtown Johnson City. A portion of the proceeds will go to support Special Spaces of the Tri-Cities, a nonprofit that creates dream bedrooms for children with life challenging illnesses.
With three time slots throughout the day — All Ages, VIP, and General Admission (21+) — several local food vendors, restaurants and caterers will be serving samples of bacon-infused dishes they have created — all included in the ticket price. The event includes kids and adult activities such as the crowning of Little Miss Bacon-Bit, the annual Man Vs. Bacon eating competition and vote for the crowd’s favorite dish, among others to be announced.
The All Ages event is from noon-3 p.m. Kids 10 and under are free (limit two per adult ticket). Children’s activities will include face painting, the crowning of Little Miss Bacon Bit, etc.
The VIP event will be from 5-6 p.m. and VIPs get private access for specialty food and specialty craft beer and alcohol pairings. The VIP ticket also is good for a swag bag and admission to the General Admission 21 & Up event from 6:30-9:30 p.m.
For the evening event, ticket holders will taste bacon-infused dishes from all of the Pork Partners as well as free bacon tastings, watch the Man vs. Bacon competition, and enjoy live entertainment to end the night. Alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase during this time.
Since this is an indoor event, tickets are limited. Visit http://tricitiesbaconfest.com for more info and to purchase tickets.
